In May 2012, Comerica Bank was honored with a statewide “Cornerstone Award” from the Texas Bankers Foundation, philanthropic arm of the Texas Bankers Association, for the bank's work with non-profits in creating “Comerica Community Resource Centers” in low-to-moderate income communities in Dallas and Houston. These resource centers are open to the public and feature computer labs, libraries and access to financial literacy workshops taught by Comerica bankers. Comerica provided grants to help launch three community centers (two in Dallas, one in Houston), which are geared toward students, adults and seniors. Comerica worked with two non-profit organizations, Project Still I Rise in Dallas and Change Happens! in Houston, to make the Comerica Community Resources Centers a reality.
