Pacesetters lead the pack, set the standard and inspire others to follow. By taking a leading role in conducting an early, highly-successful United Way campaign, Comerica’s Texas Market colleagues have helped thousands break the cycles of dropouts, poverty and poor health.
The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas recently named Comerica one of its 2013 United Way Pacesetters, recognizing our leadership in setting the tone for giving and inspiring other businesses and organizations to support United Way to change lives forever. We also were honored with the 2013 United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Best Practices Award for eWay, which recognizes our online pledge site, and Outstanding Tocqueville Campaign Pacesetter Award in honor of the increase in our donors who give more than $10,000 a year.
“Because of your leadership, we are building a vibrant future for our region — one where our children are healthy from birth, graduate from high school ready for tremendous success and ultimately find employment that leads to a lifetime of financial stability,” says Jennifer Sampson, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas president and CEO. “You inspire others across North Texas to get involved by running your United Way campaign early. Sharing your campaign success stories is one of the most effective tools for encouraging others to join our efforts to forever change lives in North Texas.”
Comerica’s Texas Market colleagues donated more than $646,000 to United Way in 2013 to help fund the United Way’s focus on three key areas of education, income and health. Nationally, 98 percent of all colleagues contributed (up 5 percent from last year) to the more than $2.1 million raised for United Way and Michigan Black United Fund.
