In July, Comerica Bank received recognition for its dedication to corporate social responsibility, community service and financial literacy at the Financial Services Roundtable Corporate Social Responsibility Leadership Awards ceremony on Capitol Hill.
Comerica is one of 23 financial services companies recognized by FSR, a leading financial services trade association, for its leadership to improve communities and improve Americans’ financial literacy skills.
“The Financial Services Roundtable commends Comerica for their tireless effort to improve the well being of their customers, their communities and their future,” said FSR Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Judy Chapa. Comerica helped contribute to the collective completion of 466,388 corporate social responsibility projects and 42,553 financial literacy projects throughout their communities last year, contributing to the donation of more than $577 million and more than 3 million volunteer hours.
The awards were presented on Wednesday, July 22, during a reception with the CSR Honorary Congressional Host Committee on Capitol Hill. Patricia McCann, National Civic Affairs Manager, accepted the award on behalf of Comerica.
In 2014, Comerica employees donated more than 73,000 hours of their personal time and talents on behalf of the communities the bank serves. Also in 2014, Comerica contributed more than $8.5 million to nonprofit organizations within the bank's markets. In addition, Comerica employees raised some $2.2 million for the United Way and Black United Fund in 2014.
