Comerica Bank Contributes $95,000 to 3 Seattle-Area Organizations

KIRKLAND, Wash., November 5, 2003 -- Comerica Bank announced today that it is making substantial contributions to three very deserving community-based organizations in the greater Seattle area. The grants are the bank's way of supporting the work these agencies do in providing technical assistance to small business and affordable housing providers who focus on low-income, minority, disabled and woman-owned small businesses.
Executives from the agencies selected will receive contribution checks totaling $95,000 during a special ceremony at 10 a.m. on Nov. 7 at the Kirkland Teens Center in Kirkland. The contributions are part of a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) grant program being implemented by Comerica Bank in which a total of $997,500 is being donated to 35 organizations in California and the state of Washington this fall.

1) Kirkland Teens Center (Kirkland) $25,000
Mission: To develop, provide and advocate services for children, youth, their families and communities that encourage individual growth and promote constructive relationships. Cory Sheppard, Manager, (425) 822-3088, ext. 202.

2) Smart Girls (Seattle) $25,000

3) Cascadia Revolving Fund (Seattle) $45,000
Mission: Provides loans and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations unable to access traditional financing and support. Shaw Canale, Executive Director & CEO, (206) 447-9226, ext. 104.
