Detroit Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. to Honor Comerica's John Haggerty on June 9

DETROIT/June 2, 2004 -- Comerica Bank Executive Vice President John Haggerty will receive the 2004 William Ware Award from Detroit Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. during the organization's annual award dinner on June 9.

The William Ware Award honors individuals for dedicated service to Detroit Neighborhood Housing Services (DNHS), a non-profit organization whose mission is to revitalize declining lower-income neighborhoods, and provide quality, affordable housing opportunities for residents of Detroit and Highland Park.

"As chairman of our steering committee, John Haggerty has been a vital and active supporter of DNHS for many years," said Garry Carley, DNHS chairman. "He has been critically important to our success and we are most appreciative of his efforts."

Haggerty, who has shared his professional expertise with DNHS since 1995, is Comerica's executive vice president of Small Business and Personal Financial Services. He also is a member of Comerica's Management Council.

Founded in 1978, DNHS is a non-profit partnership of financial and business leaders, the city of Detroit and neighborhood residents. DNHS fulfills its mission through a variety of services and programs including promoting home ownership opportunities, developing quality affordable housing, property acquisition, home improvement loans, consumer education and resident leadership training.

This year's DNHS award dinner -- "Evening on the Detroit River" -- is also a fund-raiser for the organization. The event will be held at the Roostertail, 100 Marquette Drive, in Detroit.
