Nationally Renowned Economist to Address Comerica Business Forums Oct. 26, 28

HOUSTON/Sept. 29, 2004 - Comerica Bank’s chief economist David Littmann will speak on "2005 Economic Expansion: Loosening the Political Restraints" at the following Comerica Business Forum luncheons:

Littmann has been with Comerica Bank since 1970 and is the author of Comerica’s Economic Briefs and a host of business barometers for many regional economies, including the Texas Expansion Watch Index. He is cited internationally for his releases on Comerica’s Recession Watch and Auto-Affordability indexes. Littmann recently served as chairman of the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C., where he met regularly with governors of the Federal Reserve Board.

Littmann is recognized as ranking among the most accurate forecasters on the Wall Street Journal’s respected panel of 55 national economists. He is also the recipient of the 2003 Lawrence R. Klein Award for Blue Chip Forecast Accuracy, sponsored by Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and presented by Nobel Laureate Lawrence Klein, representing one of the most prestigious and long-standing awards in the profession.

Littmann holds an M.A. degree in economics from the University of Michigan, an M.S. degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and completed special exam studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
