DETROIT/December 4, 2003 --Comerica Bank is introducing the Comerica Visa®Gift
Card -- a card that is similar to a gift certificate but can be personalized and used for purchases anywhere in the U.S. that Visa debit cards are accepted.
Comerica customers can purchase the gift cards by visiting the bank's Web site, www.comerica.com. The cards are available in denominations of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000 and can be embossed with the recipient's name.
The Comerica Visa®Gift Card enables us to provide customers the convenience of shopping online along with security of knowing that if their gift card is lost or stolen, the unspent amount can be replaced," said Michael J. Tierney, senior vice president, Personal Financial Services for Comerica Bank. "In addition, the Comerica Visa Gift Card allows the recipient the enjoyment and ease of making purchases at any of the millions of locations within the United States that accept Visa Debit."
The cards currently can be purchased online only, with a Comerica Visa Check card, Comerica Business Check Card, Comerica Equity Visa Gold Card, Comerica Corporate Credit Card, or Comerica/MBNA Credit Card. At this time, cards cannot be purchased in Comerica branches, by phone or in California.
The cost to purchase a Comerica Visa®Gift Card is $5.95. The cost includes mailing of the card to either the purchaser or recipient. Additional information on the gift card can be found at www.comerica.com.
