Comerica to Provide Check Images Online

DETROIT/November 4, 2004 - Comerica Incorporated today announced it has updated its Web Banking service to give its customers in Michigan, Texas and California quick and easy access to images of cashed checks and deposit slips.

Comerica provides Web Banking and the check image service to customers free of charge. The check images show the date a check was cashed, by which bank and can be printed and provided as proof of payment (see low-resolution sample image, below; for editors seeking a high-resolution image, see contact information below). Up to six months of check or deposit slip images will be available for customers to view.

"The upgrade in our Web Banking service is part of our continuing commitment to simplify banking for our customers," notes Michael J. Tierney, senior vice president, Personal Financial Services for Comerica. "Customers no longer have to call or visit a branch to request a copy of their cancelled check, and can save space at home because they won’t need to have their cancelled checks returned."
