"This move to one of the most prestigious addresses on Los Angeles' Westside enhances our business capabilities and signifies our growing presence in and commitment to Los Angeles County and Southern California," said Michael Fulton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comerica Bank's Western Market. "The Century Park location gives our customers in the entertainment industry and in the growing Century City area improved access to our banking services."
The Century City building is the administrative center for Southern California regional president David White, the national office for the bank's Entertainment group, and houses offices for its Wealth & Institutional Management, Commercial Real Estate, Small Business, Technology & Life Sciences, and International Finance division. The Western Market main office for the Detroit-based bank is in San Jose.
Comerica Bank's second-floor office suites and first-floor banking center are in the north tower of the striking, all-glass twin-tower 12-story building. With its dramatic geometric profile of stainless steel and sky blue glass walls, 2000 Avenue of the Stars signals a renaissance for this prestigious super block destination known as Century Park, former site of the ABC Entertainment Center and the famous Shubert Theater.
"This new location, in the heart of the entertainment industry and the Los Angeles business community, is the ideal place to serve our customers and grow our business," said Fulton.
The Century City banking center scheduled to open this spring will continue an expansion in Los Angeles that has accelerated in the past year. Comerica Bank now has 32 banking centers in Southern California, including 16 in Los Angeles County. Since early 2004, Comerica Bank has grown statewide from 41 banking centers to 70, with at least another 10 expected to be opened in California this year.
Brad Cox, vice president with CB Richard Ellis, stated: "We are proud to have Comerica Bank, one of the nation's leading financial services firms, at 2000 Avenue of the Stars. The bank is a leader in the Los Angeles business community and is a strong addition to our tenant roster. The bank will provide outstanding value to the project's tenants and the community-at- large."
Other tenants at 2000 Avenue of the Stars include Creative Artists Agency, the largest talent agency in the world, plus law firms and seven restaurants, including Craft. The 2000 Avenue of the Stars project is located on the site of a popular landmark, The Shubert Theatre, host of many movie premieres, and a large shopping mall, which were demolished in 2002. The site also is the former back lot of 20th Century Fox Studios where movie westerns were filmed 75 years ago. It is near West Los Angeles, Westwood and UCLA.
