Comerica Ranked No. 6 in Diversity by Hispanic Business Magazine

DETROIT, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comerica Bank's commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace was recognized by a recently published ranking from Hispanic Business Magazine. Comerica ranks sixth among 60 companies on the 2007 Diversity Elite Scoreboard listed by the publication.

According to the September issue of Hispanic Business Magazine, consideration for the 2007 Diversity Elite involved the review of more than 30 variables that measured a company's commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy, and supplier diversity.

  The top 60 companies listed on the Diversity Elite Scorecard received a
  rating in the following categories:

  -- Board & Leadership: Hispanic and other minority representation on the
     board of directors and at the executive level.
  -- Recruitment: Efforts to hire from minority groups, including Hispanics,
     and outreach efforts at colleges and universities.
  -- Retention & Promotion: Efforts to support, retain, and promote Hispanic
     and other minority employees through incentives, employee support
     groups, executive training, and diversity awareness and sensitivity
     training.
  -- Marketing & Community Outreach: Marketing and advertising to reach
     Hispanic consumers, as well as involvement in philanthropic or
     community services that benefit minority groups.
  -- Supplier Diversity: Support or sponsorship of supplier development
     programs, executives involved with supplier diversity, incentives tied
     to supplier diversity, and procurement goals.

  Included among diversity achievements relating to Hispanics recently
  reported by Comerica are:

  -- Entrepreneurship programs taught by California Comerica employees in
     Spanish;
  -- Partnerships with the Hispanic Business Chamber of Commerce throughout
     Texas;
  -- Receiving the Corporation of the Year Award from WUDT-TV Channel 23,
     Detroit's Spanish language UNIVISION-TV affiliate; and
  -- The hiring of Monica L. Martinez as vice president of National Hispanic
     Business Affairs.
