"We targeted neighborhood revitalization, education, health care, economic development and programs supporting diversity and inclusion because these areas address needs specific to the communities we serve," said Caroline Chambers, president, Comerica Charitable Foundation.

"A prime example is Comerica's support of the Samaritan Center and Samaritan Manor located in a developing community on the eastside of Detroit. The Samaritan Center is the largest one-stop employment and training center in the country and the Samaritan Manor, opened in 2007, is the first new, skilled nursing facility to open in Detroit in nearly two decades. We are confident that this type of partnership will pay even greater dividends for our community in 2008 and beyond."

In Michigan, the Comerica Charitable Foundation awards grants at the end of four grant seasons. The Comerica Charitable Foundation is currently accepting applications from non-profit organizations for its Winter Grant Season through March 15. Grants applied for during this period will be announced April 15. Complete application instructions are posted at the Comerica Web site: http://www.comerica.com/.

"Our grant programs keep us closely connected to Comerica's many community partners and ultimately we believe this will allow us to touch more lives," Chambers said. "Looking ahead to 2008, we feel very fortunate to be in a position to support and engage in partnerships with non-profit organizations that are addressing critical needs throughout our state."

Funded completely by Comerica Incorporated, the Comerica Charitable Foundation was established in 1997 as a non-profit corporation with the sole purpose of funding charitable causes. Since its inception, the Comerica Charitable Foundation has given more than 69 million in charitable gifts nationwide.
