"Hurricane Ike has been devastating to the Texas Gulf Coast. For this reason, in addition to our $110,000 in contributions, our employees are generously volunteering their time to individuals and families impacted by the storm," said Chuck Gummer, president, Comerica Bank - Texas Market. "And from Sept. 22 through Oct. 3, our corporate headquarters, service center and NorthPark Banking Center in Dallas will serve as food donation sites for the North Texas Food Bank. All collections will be sent to Houston to support the relief effort."
Comerica banking centers and colleagues are providing customers expedited service and special assistance as needed. Currently, Comerica has opened 14 of its Houston-area banking centers to serve customers throughout the Houston area. Team members are actively working to re-open Comerica's additional banking centers impacted by the hurricane.
To provide further support, Comerica is continuing its Cash and Care campaign, which allows new customers opening accounts of $2,500 or more to select a charity, community or relief organization to which Comerica will direct up to $100.
"We are encouraging our customers to contact their bankers to talk about their financial situations, including consumer and loan payment deferrals as well as ATM fee waivers. We understand the devastation Hurricane Ike wreaked throughout our area, and we want to work with customers case by case to meet their financial needs and address their concerns," said Gary Orr, president, Comerica Bank - Houston.
