Comerica prepares for downtown growth with Renaissance Center renovation
Location swaps video teller stations for traditional customer service windows

DETROIT, Mich./ Feb. 23, 2011 – Comerica Bank’s Renaissance Center banking center is now open with two traditional customer service windows that replace two of its four video teller stations.

Hubert Wiley, banking center manager at Comerica’s Renaissance Center location, says the move is a proactive response to projected increases in building occupancy and growth within the downtown area.

“With the expected growth of this area, this transformation will help us provide our current and future customers with the best personalized banking services,” said Wiley. “The increased one-on-one interaction will also give us a greater opportunity to understand our customers’ financial needs and goals and identify ways to meet them.”

In addition to the new service windows, the location’s remaining two video teller stations and ATM will be used primarily for customer overflow.

Comerica is making a $17 million investment downtown – renovating its building at 411 W. Lafayette, which will be renamed Comerica Bank Center and become the bank’s Michigan Market headquarters in 2012.
