Kim Kersten Named Director of Business Banking

Comerica Bank today announced that Kim Kersten, group manager for Comerica’s Business Banking – East Group, has been named director of Business Banking for the bank’s Michigan Market. She succeeds Mike Cope, who is retiring after more than 33 years with Comerica. Kersten will report to Mark Simmons, executive director of Business Banking.

Kersten will be responsible for leading Comerica’s Business Banking efforts across Michigan, including growth, credit quality, customer and internal process quality measures, and product development and pricing. She will also continue to oversee the Business Banking East Group.

A 31-year banking veteran, Kersten has led Comerica’s Business Banking East Group since 2015. Since joining Comerica in 1987, Kersten has held positions of increasing authority in the bank’s Credit, Middle Market, U.S. Banking and Business Banking departments.

Kersten holds an MBA with a concentration in finance from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree from Albion College.
