The Heart Walk is the AHA's premier fundraiser to save lives from the country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke. The series of fundraisers take place at more than 300 locations nationwide. This year’s event in Detroit occurred Saturday, May 18 at Wayne State University as colleagues either ran or walked through rainy conditions to complete the course.

The AHA dedicates funds to life-saving sciences such as preventing strokes, putting scientific advances into doctors’ hands, creating devices like the artificial heart valve and teaching longer and healthier living.

In addition to the Heart Walk, Comerica supports numerous AHA events throughout the year, including the Go Red for Women campaign in February and the upcoming Metro Detroit Heart Ball on June 7.

Senior Vice President of Regional Retail Banking Larry Bryant serves as Comerica’s executive champion and Vice President-Human Resources Consultant Nancy Heaston is the bank’s event manager for the annual Heart Walk.
