DALLAS, TEXAS, April 2, 2020 – Comerica Bank announced it will postpone its 10th annual Shred Day DFW, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at the Iron Mountain Shred Plant-Mercer Business Park, in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
"The health and safety of our colleagues, event partners and the community as well as honoring our commitment to Comerica Bank customers are our primary focus during this unprecedented time.” said Brian Foley, Texas Market President, Comerica Bank. “For that reason, we are postponing our Shred Day event in North Texas, which also is in compliance with national and local mandates and guidelines.”
The free community event offered in partnership with Iron Mountain allows the public to securely destroy an unlimited amount of sensitive paper documents while helping fight hunger by making nonperishable food and monetary donations to the North Texas Food Bank. Comerica Bank Shred Day raises awareness about identity theft prevention, the importance of sustainability and hunger in our community.
“Last week, we pledged our support to community partners on the frontline, providing critical services and resources to the communities we serve,” Foley said. “And, that’s why we have advanced our annual corporate gift in support of the North Texas Food Bank’s COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts.”
Since launching Shred Day DFW in 2011, the event has served 27,020 guests, shredded and recycled more than 3.3 million pounds of paper and provided close to 430,000 meals for area residents served by the North Texas Food Bank.
